I must be honest I don’t particularly buy into the concept of trends – there I said it! I think a lot of the time it really is much-ado-about-nothing, a marketing ploy that makes us feel that our current wardrobe is drastically inadequate and manipulates us into buying the latest, new, shiny, pretty thing in the hope that this will make us fit in. That being said I do love the way I feel when I have something new to wear, it can give me a boost of confidence and an extra spring in my step. Maybe I have fallen for the marketing ploy but I do so on my own terms;
1. I refuse to be a slave to fashion – Just because it is “in” doesn’t mean I should put it on. I try to buy looks that suit me. Crop shorts aren’t one of them.
2. I know the colours I love and the colours that love me. Acid yellow is not for me unless I am trying to frighten people away!
3. I don’t splurge on seasonal trends. These looks are here today and gone tomorrow, so they really are not worth breaking the bank over.
So here are my picks for the Pantone Pallette of Spring 2013:
All looks can be found online at Zando or Mr Price.
Happy Shopping
