One the first Saturday of the month, Friends of the Bryanston Library hold a book sale. Whenever books are donated to the library they sort through them, find the titles they don’t have on their shelves, or swap tatty old stock for good copies, and the balance are sold on their sale table. They sell the books really cheaply too. (Their philosophy seems to be that folk will buy more if they are well-priced.) And the proceeds go back into the Friends of the Bryanston Library funds to buy newer titles.
Last week I was delighted to find some beautiful coffee table books for R10 each. Some hard cover novels were also R10 and the rest were R5 each. Perfect for book worms like me! Once I have read them, I can return them for resale. Marvellous, easy way of recycling books.
Of course, I’ll be keeping the coffee table books!
Ask your library if they do the same. You can get more information about local libraries from our post For the Love of Books.

Happy Reading!

That’s such a beautiful looking book! I’ll definitely think about checking out a library book sale, although I’m not sure I need any more books for the moment
Posted by runesandrhinestones | September 18, 2012, 1:08 pmIt is beautiful and at such a fab price. I would recommend a visit to the library book sale to any book addict – it is a cheap way of supporting the habit and a good way of off loading old books you no longer read. Thanks for the comment & I hope you come back soon
